Chaat chat!!

Had a sev puri chaat from our market panipuriwala yesterday evening ....met a lady in her sixties eating chaat all alone....
They say that curiosity can kill a cat and i had no intention to die ...eating chaat!
A smile was enough to get us close and few minutes to get us closer. we actually got talking for half an hour after eating.
I liked her attitude to life.She feels that at a stage in life a woman always tends to look back and question her lifestyle, her inhibitions and wonder whether it was worth it. Was she happy doing what she did?Would she like something more out of her life? Then she discovers the obvious answer "NO" and struggles to live it her way.
My friend, whose name i do not know, goes to any restaurant alone, eats alone, watches movies alone which she had never thought doing before....today she doesn't need company or escort to do anything she likes to... has discarded her wardrobe full of sarees and churidaars, wears only jeans and T shirt, has cut her hair short, wears no sindoor and mangalsutra to which her husband keeps mum and actually claims she feels so free.
Today the Indian woman has come a real long way. I wish all a happy live ahead.

Nerves had never relaxed so
with eyes wide open
A whiff and the smell of earth
